Balancing Life

Workshop on Sustainable Work-Life Integration!

“Balance is not something you find; it’s something you create.”— Jana Kingsford.

The Sri Lanka Association of Airline Representatives, conducted a workshop on ‘Balancing Life’ to its membership at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce on 26 November 2024. Senior Professor Dr. Piyanjali de Zoysa, who regularly partners with the Association imparted valuable insights to the participants on finding balance.

The first General Meeting of SLAAR for the year 2024/25 was convened on 18Sep, 2024 at Chas P. Hayley Lounge at Hayleys.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Dumindu Amaratunga – Chairman of SLAAR. He undertook review of new matters, matters from the previous meeting along with audited accounts.

The meeting was attended to by the Executive Committee and the General Membership.

Mr. Ishara Gunawardena, Manager of Air Service and Traffic Rights of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, graced the event as a guest speaker. He expressed valuable view points on the importance of International Relations, related to airline and GSA business.

The Newly Appointed Executive Committee of The Sri Lanka Association of Airline Representatives (SLAAR), paid a courtesy call on the Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, Air vice Marshal H. M. S. K. B. Kotakadeniya (Retd), Rayhan Wanniappa – Deputy Director General Air Transport & Security Regulations and Asanga Liyanaarachchi – Director Air Transport & Economic Regulations.
The meeting served as a constructive platform to foster collaboration and as a driving force to ascertain positive change within Sri Lanka’s aviation industry. Matters pertaining to laying the groundwork for enhanced regulatory compliance, operational benefits for both Passenger & Cargo operations and professional development initiatives were among the key points discussed. The Director General expressed appreciation to the Executive Committee for their valuable input and reaffirmed their support for the growth and prosperity of Sri Lanka’s aviation industry.

SLAAR 31st Annual General Meeting

The Sri Lanka Association of Airline Representatives (SLAAR), held its 31st Annual General Meeting on 5th June 2024, at The Colombo Hilton Residences.
The meeting was attended by its 39 member companies.
Mr. Chalaka Gajabahu, Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau graced the event as the Chief Guest and Mr. Rayhan Wanniappa – Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka and Mr. Thisum Jayasuriya – Chairman, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau being the guests of honour.

training program on ‘Airline Ticketing

A successful training program on ‘Airline Ticketing – Best Practices & Technical Aspects’ was conducted by Mr. Ravi Widyalankara for SLAAR membership and our Trade Partners.
It was a well participated program with participants receiving a certificate from SLAAR.

Launching of the Tree Plantation Program

Today, our membership team launched a tree plantation program as a first step to our go green initiative. The event took place in partnership with the team at the BMICH and ended a massive success.
At this hour, we’d like to urge everyone to play part in building a greener tomorrow.

Workshop on Stress Management through Emotional Intelligence

We are happy to announce the successful completion of our workshop on “Stress Management through Emotional Intelligence”
The event was conducted by Prof. Piyanjali De Zoysa, Professor in Clinical Psychology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. The program received participation from over 50 trade partners who shared positive sentiments on the impact of this program.

Christmas Carols

This season, we spread the spirit of Christmas with our talented choristers performing at the Arrival Terminal of the Bandaranaike International Airport.
We wish you all-family and friends, eternal joy and laughter this Christmas!

Distribution of Dry rations

As we approach the season of giving, our membership distributed 27 boxes of dry rations amongst some of our most deserving friends and family.
We hope initiatives of this nature would highlight the importance of supporting one another through these challenging times. May the tradition of giving, and beauty of the season bring joy and happiness to everyone!
